The Secret to a Good Mood
Let’s start with the first secret…be kind. It’s not hard, it doesn’t cost you a dime, it can take literally seconds to accomplish and yet it can turn your whole day around. The added bonus; you’ve made someone else’s day better, too!
There is way too much anger in the world and everyone is in a hurry and only thinking about themselves. It’s time to spread some kindness. Let’s make this our new pandemic!
Random Acts of Kindness feel SO Good
Not too long ago I was on the highway and while I don’t remember the specifics, there was a sudden change of speed. Instead of zooming past another car, I motioned for them to come into my lane. No big deal, I didn’t think much of it but then a few minutes later I passed that same car and the person waved to say thank you. It felt so good to know that I helped someone else. We need more of that in our day-to-day lives. It’s not hard, try it!
Laughter is the best medicine
You’ve heard the saying before but have you ever really thought about it. Just as acts of kindness can change your day, laughter can do that as well. When is the last time you had a good laugh? Was it watching a TV show (Grace & Frankie does that for me), or did something unexpected happen that struck you as funny (yup..use your imagination on that one).
It’s OK to be silly now and then, and share it with others so they can get their laughter medicine, too. I just started going to a new church and at the start of the service the pastor told a “dad joke.” One Sunday he wanted to jump right into the service….well the congregation gave him the “stink eye” as he put it, they wanted to laugh. Lesson learned!
Turn that frown upside down, be positive and find a reason to laugh, EVERY DAY!
Hope this gives you a little chuckle to start your day.
