Time Flies

When I was thinking about what to write about this week so many things came to mind but then, while I was getting dressed this morning, I looked down at my shirt and saw “Est. 2000”. I thought hmm it seems odd to see something that says “Est” that doesn’t start with 19. The year 2000 was just a few years ago. And then it hit me that it was 22 years ago!

I can remember all of the fuss and all of the meetings over Y2K. We thought computers were not going to work at the stroke of midnight in 1999. We weren’t going to be able to pump gas or get money from ATM machines. Thankfully, we survived just fine. We survived Y2K 22 years ago yet it feels like it was just a few years ago.

We hear the expression “time flies” all of the time. There are definitely moments when time seems to stand still, like when we are waiting for results from a test, waiting to go on that long-awaited vacation, or for the birth of a child. But then before we know it time once again goes into overdrive, we blink and another year has passed. I often wonder when it will feel like time has slowed down, I’m not sure that will ever happen.

It is June 15th and in just a few weeks we will be halfway through the year 2022.

So what’s my point? I’m not really sure, but what I do know is that we need to be healthy BEFORE we NEED to be healthy so we can enjoy whatever the future holds for us since we know it’s going to fly by!
