Woman pulling her hair out due to the craziest time of the year!

It’s the Craziest Time of the Year!

You all know the saying, “better late than never”. Well, that is exactly where I am with this newsletter…late!  Unfortunately “the most wonderful time of the year” is also the craziest time of the year!  With decorating, parties, gifts to buy, wrap, and then exchange, sometimes we don’t get to everything in a timely manner!

Dangers of being too busy

There are two things that tend to happen when we are overbooked with way too much to do.

First, we get sick.  We run ourselves into the ground trying to get everything done and it leaves our tanks on empty.

Second, which also contributes to the first, is that we don’t eat right when we are stressed and don’t have time to pay attention to our good eating habits.  We tend to grab what we can when we can, and as we all know, “grabbing food” is usually not the best choice.

So what should we do when we have to be ready for the parties, gift giving, etc.?  Well, all I can say is do the best you can.  If the decorations don’t ALL get put out, it’s okay.  If you have to resort to gift cards for some people because you just don’t know what to get them, it’s okay.  And if you have to order out a little more than usual that’s okay, too.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Do what you have to do to get through the “most wonderful time of the year” with the least amount of stress possible because it’s not just the cookies that give you that spare tire around your middle, it’s also the stress that contributes to it!

Take a moment for yourself, prioritize what MUST get done, and remember to be healthy BEFORE you NEED to be healthy!
