Step Away from Sugar

Happy New Year.  It’s January 4th, the holidays are officially over, and it’s time to stop using the holidays as an excuse to eat sugar filled foods.  You know exactly what I’m talking about, the cookies, chocolate, and sugary drinks, too.

There have been studies done that show that sugar is as addictive as cocaine.  Here is an interesting article entitled “Sugar Might Be as Addictive as Cocaine” that goes into more detail.  Keep scrolling in that article or go to “The Practical 12-Step Guide to Breaking Up with Sugar” article for more information on kicking the sugar habit.

Sugar reacts differently to different people but for most people, breaking up with sugar will have nothing but a positive impact.  Reducing or removing sugar from your diet can help decrease inflammation throughout your body, it can help you lose weight,  and it can keep you from having “sugar crashes” when your blood sugar takes large swings from high to low.

Use the guide linked above to work towards a life with low to no sugar and please, let me know how you do with it and how it makes you feel.

Staying away from added sugar is another way to be healthy BEFORE you NEED to be healthy!
